Cody Rhodes isn’t afraid to stir the pot, especially when it comes to his ongoing feud with Kevin Owens. As tensions continue to rise following Owens’ shocking heel turn, Rhodes took their war of words to a personal level during an appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. While discussing his love for suits and their deeper meaning, Rhodes threw some serious shade at Owens, suggesting his rival’s frustrations might stem from “manhood issues.”
Rhodes revealed that his penchant for suits began in 2015, explaining that his style choice was about elevating wrestling’s image. “I started wearing suits all the time. It was around 2015. It just became this thing—I wanted to represent wrestling and sports entertainment in a different way,” he said. “So always suits, always customs. I didn’t feel pretentious about it. I wasn’t holding it over anybody. I just wanted to feel that, how I looked, right?”
However, it seems not everyone in the locker room feels the same way. Rhodes pointed out that his tailored look has ruffled feathers, with Kevin Owens being the most vocal critic. That’s when the American Nightmare didn’t hold back, taking a not-so-subtle jab at Owens.
“I have said in the past that there are men in the wrestling game, intimidated by the whole suit thing,” Rhodes shared. “And typically, what I’ll say is I think they have an issue with their manhood. I don’t wanna say the word…penis…but no one has been more frustrated and upset with the fact that I wear suits than Kevin Owens. So make your own assumptions as to what that means, and that is my opponent for ‘Saturday Night’s Main Event.’”
The comment added even more fuel to their already fiery rivalry, setting the stage for an explosive match at Saturday Night’s Main Event in Long Island, NY. With the feud becoming increasingly personal, fans are bracing for an intense battle that could potentially steal the show.
