Roman Reigns has been at the top of WWE for a long time, and while he still has a lot left in him, fans are wondering if he will eventually move to Hollywood. Reigns has now addressed the possibility of making that transition.
While speaking to Sports Illustrated, Roman Reigns was asked about potentially transitioning to a career in Hollywood, similar to what the likes of The Rock, John Cena and Batista have done over the years.
Reigns believes that the skills he’s learned in WWE could be useful in acting, and it would be a shame not to try using them. However, he is not sure if he would go as far as someone like The Rock or John Cena. He mentioned that Dave Bautista has found a good balance between his acting career and personal life.
“I mean, I—I think there’s a lot of… I’ve said this before, there’s so many tools and skills that I’ve built and learned along my way in WWE that it would probably be a waste if I didn’t somewhat transition and use some of these skills.
I don’t know if I would want to go to the full extent of Dwayne or even John. Dave is very busy as well—he seems to have a little more balance in the way he conducts his schedule, maybe. But you can tell he wants that—he wants to be that guy too.“
Reigns stated that if he were to make movies, he would want to be part of great stories and work with talented people, including experienced directors and actors. He’s not focused on his ego and wants to learn from others. He believes working together with the right people could lead to success and everyone making good money.
However, Reigns doesn’t feel the need to overdo it in Hollywood. He is 39 with young kids, so there may be times when he wants to focus on his family. However, he is planning to stay in good shape so he can always come back and play an action role if needed. Reigns stated that he is interested in being part of good projects and would love to get involved when the right opportunities come along.
“I want to make good movies. If I’m going to make movies, I want to make really good movies, and I want to be a part of really good stories. I want to work with a really good crew—people, you know, directors and production teams who know what they’re doing. People I can learn from. I want to work with other experienced actors. I don’t have an ego, you know, so one of my things is I want to be able to work with people who know what they’re doing and bring something great to the table as well—something I can take with me, you know, steal a couple pages from their playbook—and we can all make some great money together.
But I don’t feel the need to oversaturate that or do too much in that space because I’m 39. Who knows? My kids are young, so there’s probably going to be a patch of time where I’m going to just kind of… where to go. But I plan on taking care of myself, so I’ll probably be able to come back and kick someone’s ass no matter what, at least play that role anyway—look at it. And then have somebody fall down for me. But yeah, good projects—I definitely would love to be a part of those.”
The Original Tribal Chief also addressed potentially retiring from professional wrestling, where he made it clear there is still a lot left for him to accomplish before he calls it quits. Regardless, fans are eager to see Reigns star in a Hollywood blockbuster in the future, so we’ll have to see when Reigns will decide to show the world his acting chops
