Lance Anoa’i, the latest member of the iconic Anoa’i wrestling dynasty to sign with WWE, is already facing challenges before stepping into the ring.
The former MLW star officially joined WWE over the summer, setting the stage for him to carry on his family’s celebrated legacy. However, new reports suggest that his highly anticipated debut will be delayed due to an injury.
Fightful Select’s Sean Ross Sapp shared an unfortunate update during a recent Q&A session, revealing that WWE isn’t expecting Anoa’i to be cleared for action until early 2025. “When I heard that Lance was signed by WWE, it came with unfortunate news. They weren’t expecting him to be cleared to wrestle in 2024,” Sapp reported.
Despite being spotted in NXT Performance Center gear earlier this month, it seems fans will have to wait a bit longer to see Lance make his mark. With no creative plans in motion due to his current health status, WWE appears to be adopting a “wait and see” approach, ensuring Anoa’i’s long-term well-being before throwing him into the spotlight.
Lance’s signing generated plenty of excitement, especially given his potential to contribute to the Bloodline storyline alongside family heavyweights like Roman Reigns and The Usos. While his absence is a setback, the anticipation for his eventual debut grows, as fans hope he’ll bring a fresh dynamic to the ongoing Anoa’i family legacy in WWE.
