WWE has surprised tons of fans with their booking for NXT, and many thought that Oba Femi may win back the NXT North American Title at Halloween Havoc, but that wasn’t in the cards. He hasn’t been around for a bit since then, either.
Tony D’Angelo beat Oba Femi at Halloween Havoc 2024 to retain the NXT North American Championship. Since then, D’Angelo has carried on, even with a title match against Shawn Spears this week on the November 26 episode of NXT. That being said, Oba isn’t around.
Sean Ross Sapp wrote a bit about Oba Femi’s current whereabouts on Fightful Select. It was noted that there is no word about him being around backstage in NXT since his last loss.
“We have not heard of Oba Femi being backstage at NXT tapings since Halloween Havoc.”
Oba Femi carried the NXT North American Championship in impression fashion for a while. His loss to Tony D’Angelo on October 8 in Saint Louis was an unexpected moment. Now, he is apparently taking a bit of a break.
WWE is giving their talent a lot more time off than usual. It is always possible that Oba Femi is getting a few weeks off for the holidays. Only time will tell what happens with him, but it’s hard to imagine that his time in WWE is over by a long shot.
NXT has been known to take talent away from television around this time of the year if they intend on making a Royal Rumble debut. Oba Femi is currently not involved in any storyline, and many fans might argue that he is ready for the main roster already. Keep checking back with Ringside News for more.
