Liv Morgan Reflects on Pinch-Me Moment Wrestling Trish Stratus for WWE Gold

Liv Morgan has experienced her fair share of unforgettable moments in WWE, but stepping into the ring with her childhood idol Trish Stratus was a dream come true.

During an interview with Inside The Ropes, the WWE Women’s World Champion opened up about her surreal experience wrestling Trish and Lita for the Women’s Tag Team Titles in 2023—a match that ended with Liv and Raquel Rodriguez securing championship gold.

“Oh, for sure [it was surreal],” Liv admitted. “That was actually my second time in the ring with Trish. But it’s safe to say I never conceivably thought that I’d be wrestling against Trish Stratus, let alone win a championship off her.”

For Liv, the moment held extra significance given how much of her early wrestling style was inspired by the Hall of Famer. “A lot of my moveset early on was very Trish Stratus-inspired,” she explained. “So when I gave myself a moment to really appreciate what it was that I was doing, it really was a pinch-me moment. These moments that you never thought you’d have, and all of a sudden here you are face to face with them and you’re just like, whoa, how did we get here? How did we finesse this?”
