Orange Cassidy remains an enigma in professional wrestling and fans are always excited to see his laid-back gimmick, especially his hands in his pockets spot. Regarding his iconic pockets spot, Cassidy has now revealed the origins of the same.
While speaking to Bill Apter of Sportskeeda Wrestling, Orange Cassidy revealed how he came up with his “hands in pockets” spot during matches. Cassidy stated that during a match at Beyond Wrestling, his opponent was making fun of him, saying he couldn’t wrestle. To prove them wrong, Cassidy wrestled with his hands in his pockets and still won the match.
“I was in a match on the Indies, in Beyond Wrestling, and someone was mocking me, trying to get in my head, saying I couldn’t wrestle. So I said, ‘Okay, I’ll beat you with my hands in my pockets.’ And I did.”
When asked what he is protecting by keeping his hands in his pockets, Orange Cassidy joked that he is simply protecting his pride, saying, “My Pride.” It’s evident Cassidy’s answer resonated with a lot of fans.
As for Orange Cassidy’s AEW career, he failed to defeat Jon Moxley for the AEW World Championship at Full Gear despite his best efforts. Fans are now waiting to see what the company has planned for Cassidy, as it’s expected his war with Jon Moxley and The Death Riders isn’t over just yet.
