AEW Full Gear 2024 went down in the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. Although several titles were on the line during the event, only one of them took place in a four-way contest. That set the stage for a fast-paced AEW World Tag Team Title match.

The AEW World Tag Team Titles received quite a spotlight after Private Party beat the Young Bucks for the belts during the October 30 episode of AEW Dynamite, which caused the Jacksons to take a hiatus from the company. The EVPs said they will be working from home, and that left the tag team division to battle for those titles without them in the picture.

During AEW Full Gear 2024, the AEW World Tag Team Championship was defended in a four-way match with Private Party defending their titles against The Outrunners, Kings of the Black Throne, and The Acclaimed. Each of those teams had a portion of the AEW fan base cheering them on before the contest.

This match kicked off the pay-per-view event, with the Kings of the Black Throne getting a very special musical entrance during the final portion of the Zero-Hour show. Private Party brought back their old-school “Shots, Shots, Shots,” entrance as they came out for their title defense. This match got a big fight feel with Justin Roberts doing the intros, too.

This match was very fast-paced and there was a lot going on as eight men had to be corralled during the contest. Then things got underway as they settled into the four-way tag team match.

At one point, everyone held down Brodie King so Anthony Bowens could execute a crotch stomp from the top rope. They didn’t get to scissor, but Bowens did retain control of the matchup. Private Party was also sure to keep anyone from getting a pinfall to keep their titles.

The Outrunners had the fans in the palm of their hands, and every time they gained advantage that was apparent. Brodie King, as the biggest man in the match, also threw his weight around very well. This was assisted by Malakai Black as he helped with a double team move, but then Max Caster stopped Black from helping out again. Then the Outrunners hit a double team move on King for a two-count.

At one point, Max Caster and Anthony Bowens were the two legal men in the match, and Caster tried to get Bowens to pin him to win the match like the New Age Outlaws did so many years ago, but it didn’t work. There were also chants of “F*ck You, Caster” from the New Jersey crowd.

The Private Party were able to nail a Gin and Juice to secure the win. This was a huge title defense for the champions, and they will walk out of New Jersey with their championships after defying the odds at Full Gear.
