Good ol’ JR is ready to bring his iconic voice back to AEW! Jim Ross, the legendary wrestling commentator, has officially confirmed he will be in Newark, NJ, for AEW Full Gear this Saturday, November 23. Despite battling a series of health issues, including a recent hip replacement surgery, Ross made it clear that he wouldn’t miss one of AEW’s biggest nights of the year.

When a fan asked JR on social media if he’d be attending a game in Kansas, Ross squashed any rumors of his absence, tweeting, “No as I’ll be in Newark for @AEW ppv.” This confirmation comes after months of health struggles that left fans wondering if the WWE Hall of Famer would make an appearance at the event.

Ross opened up about his recovery on his Grilling JR podcast, sharing that while he’s not fully healed, he’s making progress. “I feel better,” JR said. “I feel better about traveling; I’m not so hesitant about traveling right now because I’m feeling good. My hip still bothers me, I wonder how long a g*ddamn hip replacement takes to heal, but it ain’t happened for me yet. But it’s getting better.”

For JR, staying active and engaging with fans is a big part of his recovery. “It’s great, it’s invigorating, and it makes me feel young,” he noted. Ross also had no patience for anyone pointing out his age, saying he’s focused on what he can control and continuing to contribute to the business he loves.
