Former WWE star MVP is officially All Elite, and he’s already made waves since debuting on the September 25 edition of AEW Dynamite. Now, in a surprising announcement, MVP revealed his plans to hang up his boots for good while under contract with AEW.
Posting to Bluesky, MVP responded to a fan’s question about his in-ring future, saying: “Yeah. I plan to eventually officially retire in AEW.”
MVP’s last match was in July 2022 on WWE Raw, where he teamed with Omos against The Street Profits. Although he hasn’t stepped inside the squared circle in over two years, MVP intends to wrestle again before calling it a career in AEW.
Since joining AEW, MVP has brought former Hurt Business stablemates Shelton Benjamin and Bobby Lashley into the fold, reuniting the trio under a new name—The Hurt Syndicate. The group has already made its mark, and with Lashley set for his AEW pay-per-view debut against Swerve Strickland at Full Gear, all eyes are on this dominant faction.
Interestingly, Lashley recently revealed that he initially planned to retire in WWE before making the jump to AEW, adding even more intrigue to the group’s journey in the company.
With MVP planning to close out his legendary career in AEW, fans are eagerly waiting to see when he’ll step into the ring and how he’ll choose to say goodbye.
