Toni Storm has not been seen on AEW television since losing the AEW Women’s Title to Mariah May at AEW All In and she recently made headlines after announcing her retirement from pro wrestling. In light of her recent announcement, Tony Khan has now addressed the same.

In an interview with SB Nation after a series of losses, Toni Storm stated she was not used to losing and felt like she failed everywhere, including AEW, Japan, and Mexico. She also said AEW did not need her and told fans to support Mariah May as the new champion. To add to the drama, Storm added that she had no plans to appear in public again and claimed that she had retired from professional wrestling.

I’m not used to being a loser. I’ve failed at everything. I lost in AEW, I lost in Japan, I lost in Mexico. This is the last you’ll hear from me again. Enjoy Mariah May as your champion. You can all enjoy that. AEW is just fine without me. Everything is going well for AEW. They don’t need Toni Storm. Chin down. Tits in. Don’t bother watching for the shoe.”

While speaking during the AEW Full Gear media call, AEW President Tony Khan was asked if Toni Storm was retiring, but Tony Khan shut down the idea. He stated that “reports of her demise are greatly exaggerated” and assured everyone that she still has a bright future in wrestling.

“Timeless Toni Storm has been a great world champion for AEW. I think reports of her demise have been greatly exaggerated. I still expect Toni Storm will have a great wrestling career, but she’s really struggling, clearly, with what’s happened. She lost the world title, she lost her protege. I think she feels like she lost everything and now she’s lost. I hope Toni Storm can find herself and come back to us in AEW because Timeless Toni Storm is a great part of AEW.”

Therefore, fans will be happy to know that Toni Storm will not be retiring from professional wrestling anytime soon. Now it is simply a matter of time before the former AEW Women’s Champion will make her triumphant return to television and likely reignite her feud with Mariah May.
