Rey Mysterio Explains Why Daughter Aalyah Didn’t Pursue Wrestling Career

Rey Mysterio’s legacy as a pro wrestler is unmatched and fans are happy to see his son Dominik Mysterio becoming a big star in his own right in WWE. Fans always wondered why Mysterio’s daughter Aalyah didn’t join her family and become a WWE Superstar and now Rey Mysterio has revealed the reason.

WWE booked Rey Mysterio’s daughter Aalyah and Buddy Murphy in a romantic storyline back during the pandemic era and it led to a lot of headlines. WWE would ultimately drop the storyline completely and Aalyah Mysterio was not involved in a longstanding angle ever since.

While speaking to Peter Rosenberg, Rey Mysterio explained why his daughter Aalyah didn’t pursue a wrestling career, stating she loved wrestling just as much as Dominik. They played wrestling together, but he added that Aalyah was more focused on her studies and was always dedicated, getting A’s. Even now, she is still very focused on her education and is pursuing a medical career instead of following in his wrestling footsteps.

“She also loves it as much as Dom did. We played wrestling a lot, but for some reason, she was more on my wife’s side. She was the one who liked to study and was very dedicated, always getting A’s. To this day, she’s still very focused on her education. On the other hand, she’s now pursuing her medical career.”

Aalyah Mysterio was seen on WWE television when Dominik Mysterio was feuding with Rey Mysterio but nothing more came from that. Fans have simply accepted the fact that they may never see Aalyah become a WWE Superstar and there is simply nothing wrong in that, as she is pursuing something she loves.
