Speaking on Rosenberg Wrestling, Rey reflected on how his own beloved babyface status might have initially triggered the audience’s disdain for Dominik. However, he claimed the real villain in this story isn’t the betrayal—it’s the facial hair.

“I think it was definitely a triggering point at a certain part of his career or his turn, but then after that, I think now it’s mainly based on the Mustache,” Rey said. He didn’t stop there, adding, “I mean, I hate it. I don’t know about you. [It’s] gotta be the Mustache. Not so much the hatred that he has on his father—it’s the Mustache, yeah.”
