Rey Mysterio Open to Reigniting Feud with Dominik Mysterio

Dominik Mysterio and Rey Mysterio have been at odds with each other ever since Dominik turned heel on his father a couple of years ago. They engaged in a feud last year but haven’t had a proper singles feud since then, and Rey Mysterio has now addressed having yet another feud with his son.

Dominik played a big role in forcing Rey Mysterio to move to SmackDown in the past, with the Judgment Day often disrespecting the WWE Hall of Famer. The rivalry heated up again on RAW after the LWO was drafted there. Over the past several months, Dominik never failed to show his dislike for his father on TV and during live events but fans really want to see them have a proper feud like they did lead up to WrestleMania 39.

While speaking on the Cheap Heat podcast with Peter Rosenberg, Rey Mysterio was asked whether the feud between him and Dominik Mysterio is over or if there is more story to tell. Rey Mysterio stated that he’s open to having another feud with his son.

The Master of the 619 explained that fights within a family are always a part of their bond and never truly disappear. If the time comes for them to face off again, Rey Mysterio is ready to step back into the ring with Dominik.

“So I don’t think when a father fights with his son, daughter fights with her mother, that’s family, that always stays there, that’s never going away. Eventually, I think, if the papers are turned and it’s time for us to walk around the corner and bump heads again and we have to go at it one more time? Let’s do it.”

Rey Mysterio was when asked whether he ever sees a possible reconciliation with Dominik Mysterio and if they will ever become a tag team again. Rey stated that he would love to reconnect with his son and end things on a positive note. However, he’s unsure if that will happen because people change over time, sometimes for better and sometimes for worse. He hopes that one day Dominik will realize the importance of family and being part of the Mysterio legacy.

“That’s something that as a father, they would always to love to have with their kids, to be able to reconnect and end off where you started, on the good side. I don’t know if that’s gonna happen over the years, you know people change, sometimes for good, sometimes for bad. Hopefully one day Dom can see the bright side of being on the Mysterio side and being family overall, but I think that’s gonna be very hard.”

Dominik Mysterio also set the terms for considering Rey Mysterio as his father once again, claiming that Rey Mysterio would need to publicly acknowledge his defeat in a dramatic manner. Regardless, we’ll have to see when Rey and Dominik Mysterio will feud with each other in the future.
