Roman Reigns has been focused on getting his Uah Fala back from Solo Sikoa since he made his big SummerSlam 2024 return. There are a lot of other challenges that he could face on the WWE roster, including a rivalry with CM Punk. The Second City Savior seems to be all about making that leap into a big-money feud with Roman Reigns.
CM Punk has competed against some of the top names in wrestling. Now back in WWE, he is focused on his future with the company and the opportunities it brings. He also acknowledges that a big-money match is always a possibility.
While speaking to Peter Rosenberg at ComplexCon, CM Punk was asked about potential dream match opponents. He mentioned a lot of people he would like to face in WWE at this point, but he also knows that he only has so many matches that he can actually do.
“I’m reconciling with the fact that I’m not 30-years-old. So, when you ask me who I want to get in the ring with, the list is pretty lengthy. I think Chad Gable is on the top of the list. I think Bronson Reed is on the top of the list. [Ludwig] Kaiser is someone I see a lot in, GUNTHER, and I’m selfishly talking about guys that I would like to wrestle at house shows.”
“Then you talk about the money stuff, you talk about the marquee stuff. You talk about what is the match you could see main eventing a pay-per-view. That’s what gets my juices flowing. I think whenever myself and Roman Reigns are face-to-face on television, I think that’s gonna be a moment. The table is set for myself and Cody. You also never know when The Rock is gonna come back.”
When it comes to locking up with Roman Reigns, CM Punk did acknowledge that they are on different brands. That separation between brand lines may keep them apart, but WWE is only so big at this point.
“We’re on different shows and I feel like with my injury and his time off, I saw him at WrestleMania, that’s the last time I saw him. Absence makes the heart grow fonder, and I think all your questions, all that stuff is going to play on television.”
Right now, Roman Reigns is focused on Survivor Series, which will see his O.G. Bloodline take on Solo Sikoa’s crew in a WarGames match. Only time will tell how that turns out, but the Bloodline’s saga is far from finished.
WWE has Roman Reigns and CM Punk locked into deals for a while, so it’s not out of the question that the two will come face-to-face eventually. Obviously, CM Punk is waiting for that day to come around. In the meantime, he also has a few other opponents that he can go through first on his list of dream matches on the current roster.
