Rob Van Dam knows a thing or two about legendary venues, so it was only fitting that he was in the house when NXT took over the iconic former ECW Arena on November 6, 2024.

While RVD didn’t step between the ropes, he had front-row seats to an electrifying main event where Jordynne Grace, Stephanie Vaquer, Giulia, Kelani Jordan, and ZARIA took down Fallon Henley, Jacy Jayne, Jazmyn Nyz, Cora Jade, and Roxanne Perez in a 10-Woman Tag Team Match that had everyone talking.

RVD shared his take on the match and the NXT women’s division during his One of a Kind podcast, and it’s safe to say he’s impressed.

“There’s a lot of room to show skill in a match like that, and there’s a lot of room to show vulnerabilities or weak spots,” RVD admitted. He acknowledged that while he didn’t catch the entire match, the women delivered where it counted. “I didn’t see the whole thing, but sometimes in a match like that, maybe if it was like in the other company, there might be a lot of spots on there that would say, you know what, they shouldn’t do that if they’re not good at it,” he said.

The former WWE Champion dropped some real talk about new wrestlers putting themselves out there on TV. “If you’re not good at punches, don’t throw punches. If you’re not good at chops, don’t throw chops. If you’re not good at forearms, don’t throw forearms until you become good at it,” RVD explained.

RVD stressed that he wasn’t calling out the NXT women specifically but offering advice to all up-and-coming wrestlers: “A lot of green wrestlers are still doing things that they’re not that good at on TV and overall. That’s something I would put a stop to.”

Despite these challenges, RVD couldn’t hold back his admiration for NXT’s current roster. “I’m impressed with the standards, the workmanship, the level that everyone is at there, at NXT, in comparison with other wrestling products that are on TV,” he concluded.
