WWE SmackDown got a major upgrade when Nick Aldis was introduced as the new general manager on the October 13, 2023 episode, and fans are loving it. Aldis, who had been working behind the scenes as a producer since August 2023, is now officially stepping into the spotlight.

Before joining WWE, Aldis had a notable run with TNA/IMPACT Wrestling, where he held the IMPACT World Title before dropping it to Alex Shelley at IMPACT Slammiversary and finishing up with the company at their August TV tapings.

In a chat with Chris Van Vliet on Insight, Aldis reflected on the last time they spoke before his WWE gig. “I didn’t have any job then,” Aldis admitted.

“Now I have two; producer and a talent. I have two contracts. An employee contract as a producer and a talent contract for the General Manager role.” That’s right—Aldis is pulling double duty as both a backstage producer and on-screen talent, solidifying his spot as a key player in WWE.
