Nick Aldis made a transition to WWE last year, assuming the role of SmackDown General Manager and this was seen as a big move by many. However, he still hasn’t stepped foot inside the squad circle after joining WWE and he has now revealed the condition for him potentially competing in the company.
It’s been over a year since Nick Aldis was introduced as SmackDown’s General Manager by WWE CCO Triple H. Aldis has excelled in the role, but many fans are eager to see him return to the ring eventually since he would clearly be a formidable force inside the squared circle.
While speaking during an interview with Chris Van Vliet, the former two-time NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion talked about the possibility of wrestling in WWE. Nick Aldis shared that he hasn’t actively pushed for a full-time return to wrestling, but he’s open to competing if needed.
Aldis mentioned that while people frequently ask about his return, he has never asked for it himself. He feels no need to push for a comeback, and if the opportunity arises, he will be ready whenever the time is right and when the higher-ups decide it’s the right moment.
“I guess. But I also don’t necessarily see it like that. 100% I see it more as a sort of maybe not a full-time wrestler, but I don’t know. Look, it gets asked all the time by everyone except me. I have never once said, hey what about me? Could I wrestle? Because I don’t need to. If and when the time comes it’ll be what they want, and it will hopefully be the right time. I just told them that if you want to do that, I’m ready.”
Only time will tell whether Nick Aldis will ever compete in WWE. Considering his size and stature, there is no doubt he would be excellent as an in-ring competitor, even if it won’t be for a full-time run.
