Omos has made a big impact in WWE thanks to his enormous size and commanding presence. Despite this, WWE hasn’t featured him often whatsoever. Interestingly enough, The Undertaker believes Omos should never get pinned inside the squared circle from now on.
Omos joined WWE in January 2019 and rose to prominence in 2020 when he teamed up with AJ Styles. Their partnership led to a RAW Tag Team Championship win at WrestleMania 37. After that success, Omos made occasional TV appearances, including a notable performance at the Royal Rumble earlier this year.
While speaking on the latest episode of his Six Fee Under podcast, The Undertaker spoke highly of Omos after the giant appeared on the show. He called Omos a great guy and said he hopes WWE uses him in the right way because of his unique potential.
“You can’t not love that guy. He’s such a good guy, and you like to see people like that succeed. I hope they find something good for him. Yeah [he needs to have a big guy with him], there’s nothing else that makes sense. There’s just nobody on the roster that makes sense. I don’t care now over or what you are. If you sacrifice that, I just don’t…you can’t do it. You have to be so judicious in how you handle him, and there’s not many people I don’t think that he shouldn’t just squash.“
The Undertaker compares Omos to Andre the Giant, saying that his size and presence make him a special attraction. He believes most wrestlers should lose to Omos, and there’s no reason for him to ever be pinned. He also said Omos doesn’t need a championship because his size and personality are enough to make him stand out.
When asked if Omos needs a manager, The Undertaker said he’s already good at talking but needs opponents who can give him a real challenge. He mentioned wrestlers like Braun Strowman, Bronson Reed, and Gunther as good options for exciting matchups. Even then, Omos should rarely lose because of how dominant he is.
The Undertaker also thinks Omos could be a great ambassador for WWE, like Andre the Giant was in his time. He praised Omos for being smart, charismatic, and passionate about wrestling. He compared him to Mark Henry, saying Omos can be intimidating but also has a likable side that connects with fans. Overall, The Undertaker sees Omos as a one-of-a-kind talent with a bright future
“He is a modern-day Andre. He has the intellect, and obviously he’s good on the mic, talking. I don’t know. I think it’s just having people that pose any kind of challenge to him at all. He’s so much bigger than everybody. You got Braun Strowman out there, you got Bronson Reed. I could see a Gunther working with Omos, but having to really scrap from underneath. Someone like Omos doesn’t need to ever be pinned. There’s always an out somewhere, but he doesn’t get pinned. There’s nothing in almost any scenario that makes sense. I don’t care what comic book fantasy world that you live in. He doesn’t need a belt. He is a walking, breathing, living attraction. I could see him coming in as a heel, and then something happening and him just being an ultra, mega, worldwide babyface.
He doesn’t have to work every week. That’s the thing. He doesn’t have to work on TV every week. What he can do and is willing to do, because he loves the industry and loves everything that comes with that, as an active competitor, he could be a global ambassador for the sport. Andre was the face of wrestling long before the Hogans and anybody else came along. You can’t think of a better person, if you want somebody to go out and represent your brand around the world, somebody 7-foot-four, 400-pound, intelligent human being with tons of personality. He’s like Mark Henry in a sense. Mark will scare you to death looking at him, if Mark’s got a scowl on his face. But as soon as Mark smiles, you feel like he’s a big teddy bear.”
This isn’t the first time The Undertaker gave such praise to Omos either. Bobby Lashley also recently advocated for WWE to use Omos more on television as he feels Omos is far too talented not to be used. Regardless, we’ll have to wait and see if WWE will have anything substantial planned for Omos somewhere down the line, as The Undertaker definitely wants to see the Nigerian Giant shine.
