The WrestleMania XL Kickoff set the stage for the main events of both nights at WrestleMania XL, and fans turned out to watch the show live. Fans were not quiet about their frustrations over rumors that The Rock might take Cody Rhodes’ spot against Roman Reigns, causing The Final Boss to invent the “Cody Crybabies” term. The tension built toward a dramatic night, to say the least.

It seemed The Rock and Roman Reigns were heading for the main event of WrestleMania XL. However, Royal Rumble winner, Cody Rhodes, interrupted to claim his match against Reigns. The confrontation ended when The Rock slapped Rhodes, which brought things to another level.

In an interview after that went down during the broadcast, Jackie Redmond interviewed Triple H to make sense of the situation. Their conversation was interrupted by The Rock, who demanded that Triple H “fix it.” Redmond later reflected on this chaotic day during an appearance on the Gabby AF podcast.

“When we had the WrestleMania kickoff in Vegas last year, the show’s happening and I was there just to do some backstage reports and interviews and stuff and the show’s like half over. My boss comes up to me and is like, ‘Hey, I think at the end you’re going to interview Hunter, you’re gonna interview Paul at the end of this when this is over. I think he’s gonna come out, do a quick interview just about how everything went.’ I’m like, okay. He’s kind of like, ‘Just put a bow on the event, get his thoughts.’ It was our first one, it was our first press kickoff event so to speak with the crowd and everything. I was like, okay, easy peasy, no big deal. I had no idea that The Rock was going to interrupt said interview, that legitimate did not know.”

I was literally just interviewing Hunter. Obviously things happened at the end of the press that I had to ask Hunter about, which I did. I knew I was doing all of that but I had no idea that would happen and I literally, if you watch the clip, everyone’s like, ‘Oh my gosh, Jackie sold that so good.’ I didn’t sell sh*t. I didn’t sell nothing. That’s me reacting in real time to The Rock dropping F bombs on our show and me being like, ‘What is going on right now?’ That was a true and genuine in-the-moment reaction. I don’t know if people will believe that, but that’s the truth.”

Night one of WrestleMania XL featured Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins teaming up to face Roman Reigns and The Rock. Then on night two, Reigns defended his Undisputed WWE Universal Championship against Rhodes, which he lost so the American Nightmare could finish his story.

During the interview, Redmond also commented on Samantha Irvin’s departure from WWE. She praised Irvin for following her heart and expressed confusion over the negative fan reactions to her exit.

Jackie Redmond has been part of several key moments in WWE history during her time with the company. Only time will tell what lies ahead for her, but she could play a significant role in future events.
