WWE Hall of Famer “Stone Cold” Steve Austin surprised fans with his return to the ring at WrestleMania 38, ending a 19-year retirement to face Kevin Owens. While Austin hasn’t competed since then, Cody Rhodes has now invited him to make an appearance at WrestleMania 41.
WWE was in talks to involve ”Stone Cold” Steve Austin in some capacity during WrestleMania 40 weekend, but he never appeared at the Premium Live Event and that ended up disappointing fans in a big way.
Earlier this year, Steve Austin even hinted at appearing at WrestleMania 41 and fans really want that to happen no matter what. After all, they simply want to see him make up for not appearing at WrestleMania 40 this year.
While speaking to Adrian Hernandez, Cody Rhodes made it clear that he invited Steve Austin to appear at WrestleMania 41. He talked about how much he respects Austin and wants him to see how well WWE is doing now. Cody thanked Austin and The Rock for helping build the foundation for today’s success and said he hopes Austin would be proud of what the current roster has achieved. Cody also mentioned how much he’d love for Austin to be involved in some way at the event.
“Yeah, so the invitation’s there. He’s also not far—I mean, we could helicopter him 3 hours away, Great American Bash style. I think Steve Stone Cold Steve Austin being, you know, we’re talking inside here, but this babyface individual, and we’re back in this unbelievable era where there are good guys in the business again. Here was the ultimate babyface who had the company on his back. I just would like him to be around to see how we’re doing. I want him to know, like, ‘Hey, we’re doing this Friday, we’re doing this Saturday,’ and I hope he’s proud of all of us because he really has set the table for us, him and The Rock, in a way that we can eat so fruitfully. So I’d love for Steve to do anything. Cody, we will see you in April, but until then, go get some sleep, QB1.’ I don’t think I’m going to sleep. I want to stay doing this interview because, yeah, he’s about to take me somewhere I don’t want to go.”
Steve Austin is also considerably jacked and clearly in great shape and CM Punk has also expressed interest in facing Steve Austin at WrestleMania 41, so it remains to be seen if the Texas Rattlesnake does return to the ring at WrestleMania 41.
