WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus has done a lot in the business and paved the way for future generations of women’s wrestlers. This included memorable programs with the likes of Triple H and she has now revealed that WWE rejected a pitch for a segment with Triple H.
During the early 2000s, Trish Stratus had a storyline with Triple H that saw them square off against Lita and The Rock in a tag team match. Their storyline included a segment where Triple H was showing Stratus some wrestling moves but they seemed very suggestive and Stephanie McMahon would walk in on them.
This segment was then recreated during the 1000th episode of WWE RAW, where Stratus was showing yoga moves to Triple H and DX walked in on them and fans definitely enjoyed the segment.
While speaking on Inside the Ropes, Trish Stratus talked about how WWE rejected her idea for a segment with Triple H during the RAW 1000 episode. While they revisited some old moments with DX, it wasn’t quite what she had in mind.
Stratus had suggested a funny backstage segment where she would teach Stephanie McMahon yoga, and then Triple H would walk in. Trish thought it would have been a cute moment and a fun reference to their past, one of those “if you know, you know” moments that fans would enjoy.
However, Trish Stratus’ idea was simply rejected and even though her idea wasn’t shown, she still had fun and liked creating memorable moments for fans.
“Actually, we went back—I think it was the 20th anniversary… or maybe the 30th? I don’t know, there was an anniversary—and we revisited it. Do you remember when I did that thing with DX? Yeah, it just wasn’t the same.
I had proposed something—tell me how this would’ve played out. I suggested that Stephanie and I could’ve been backstage, and I’d be showing her a few yoga moves, and then Triple H walks in. Wouldn’t that have been much better? Right? Like, super cute. It would’ve been one of those ‘if you know, you know’ moments. As you can tell, when I did my comeback, I love those ‘if you know, you know’ moments. That would’ve been a fun callback for me, personally.
But anyway, it didn’t happen and they rejected it. You know how it is, that’s how it goes sometimes. Have you ever heard that? Sometimes it just doesn’t happen. Anyway, it was fun!”
Trish Stratus hasn’t wrestled inside the squared circle since her Payback 2023 match with Becky Lynch. Regardless, some fans might agree that Stratus’ pitch would have made the segment with Triple H even better but that wasn’t the way WWE wanted it done in the end.
