The Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee, Wisconsin played host to November 15 WWE SmackDown, and the show was filled with reasons to tune in. That included a WWE Tag Team Title match as Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley put their titles on the line.
During the October 25 WWE SmackDown, The Motor City Machine Guns won the WWE Tag Team Titles off the Bloodline when Jey Uso had his revenge after they cost him the IC Title. That win, which it may have been assisted by Uce, did not take anyway away from how much the Motor City Machine Guns deserved that title run.
The Motor City Machine Guns defended their tag team titles against The Street Profits on the November 15 episode of WWE SmackDown. This was a match that was sprung on Shelley and Sabin during the November 8 episode of WWE SmackDown. Of course, Tommaso Ciampa of #DIY wanted that match instead.
The title match started off fast with Chris Sabin and Montez Ford, as they tried to one-up each other. Then Alex Shelley tagged in, and the Motor City Machine Guns used some of their seasoned seamless teamwork against their opponent. Suddenly, Montez Ford took Shelley out with a right hand which sent him out of the ring, and then Angelo Dawkins tackled Shelly which sent him flying over the announce table.
The match went to commercial break, and when we came back, Sabin was setting up a dive to the outside off the apron onto Montez Ford. This match continued as Ford kicked out after a double-team top rope dropkick into a flatliner from the Motor City Machine Guns.
The Street Profits took control of the match for a moment, but just as Montez Ford was about to nail a move from the top rope, Tommaso Ciampa showed up, and he pulled Ford off the top rope to start a beatdown. The referee called for the bell as Ciampa’s beatdown continued.
Johnny Gargano came out to talk to Tommaso Ciampa and get him to calm down, but he pushed his partner away and left. As Ciampa left, he barked about wanting the titles. In the end, The Street Profits weren’t finished with the fight. Angelo Dawkins nailed a cheap shot on Alex Shelley, and they left looking angry. We will have to see how this pans out for the SmackDown tag team division.
