This week’s WWE SmackDown was held at the Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and they need to reset the deck in a lot of ways. That includes determining who will be the first-ever WWE Women’s United States Champion.
SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis was proud to announce that WWE is introducing a new title for the women. They need to figure out who will get that title first, and a tournament is the best answer. The company got started on that during the November 15 WWE SmackDown. The finals set to go down at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 14.
The Women’s United States Championship Tournament kicked off when B-Fab, Candice LeRae, and Bayley squared off. This was a huge match for everyone involved, but only one of them could move on in the tournament.
This match started out with Candice dropkicking Bayley’s knee to take her down. Then B-Fab nailed LeRae with a slam for a two count. B-Fab has been training hard for this moment, and they put her opportunity over on commentary.
This match continued as Bayley got back into the fray, but B-Fab was able to stop her from getting in the ring, and then she stopped Candice LeRae with a kick before dropping them both with a double clothesline. Bayley went toppling back to the floor as the show went into a commercial break.
Bayley eventually returned to action, and she took B-Fab out of the match. Candice and Bayley battled a bit in picture-in-picture, as B-Fab re-entered the contest to wrestle Bayley. Then we came back from commercial break.
Candice LeRae broke up a pinfall attempt from Bayley after a Macho Man sized elbow on B-Fab, and Corey Graves brought up that this is Randy Savage’s birthday.
This match continued as B-Fab nailed a powerbomb on Bayley as she was suplerplexing Candice, but LeRae twisted her body to turn it into a press on Bayley for a pin that B-Fab had to break up at two. Candice wasn’t happy about that at all. B-Fab was on a roll, hitting powermoves on her opponents for a near fall.
Bayley hit a Bayley to Belly on Candice, and B-Fab threw her out of the ring, but she couldn’t get the pin. In the end, B-Fab booted Candice out of the ring, and then Bayley got a roll up pin on B-Fab for the win. That means Bayley will advance in the WWE Women’s United States Title tournament.
