MJF likes putting his future opponents through a gambit before they get a match with him. This time, Adam Cole has his eyes with a match against the Salt of the Earth, but MJF declared that Cole must win three matches in a row before that happens, and the November 13 AEW Dynamite was a big night for that storyline.
Roderick Strong beat Lance Archer in singles action, marking his third win in a row. That locked in his match against MJF at Full Gear, but Adam Cole had a match as well.
Adam Cole already beat Buddy Matthews and Malakai Black to rake in his first two wins. He needed another one to lock in his Full Gear match against MJF On November 23.
Konosuke Takeshita was Adam Cole’s opponent this week, as the gambit was brought forth by the Don Callis Family this week. The match went down right after Roderick Strong made it clear that he will take down MJF. Then they showed MJF watching on a television in a remote location with a smile on his face.
This match was a big one for Mr. Bay Bay, because if he won, then that meant a match against MJF was his, or at least a triple threat match after Roddy racked up his third win. Sadly for him, Takeshita would use MJF’s Dynamite Diamond Ring against Cole and then get the clean pinfall.
This was a big loss for Adam Cole, meaning he wouldn’t get his MJF match. In the end, Roderick Strong is the one who was given that match against MJF, which was quite a swerve indeed.
