Mercedes Mone continues to set her sights on Mariah May as a potential dream opponent in AEW.

Both women have reached the pinnacle of AEW’s women’s division in 2024, with Mone holding the AEW TBS Championship and May reigning as the AEW Women’s World Champion. While the two have yet to clash in the ring, Mone has made it clear that she’s eager for that showdown.

In a conversation with Raj Prashad of Uproxx Sports, Mone emphasized her admiration for May’s journey and expressed her desire to challenge the champion.

“I am super proud to watch from afar,” Mone stated. “She came in as a super fan, just loving wrestling, loved it so much that she moved from England to Japan, trained out in Stardom just to hone her craft, and now she’s here. She is our women’s world champion, beating Toni Storm in one of the best storylines in women’s history.”

Mone, a fierce competitor who has proven herself as one of the best in the business, hinted that she has her eye on more than just May’s skills.

“To see her rise this fast and to see how good she is in the ring, it’s so incredible. Like I said, we have the best women’s division in the game right now. I’m definitely looking at the title that she has around her waist,” she added.

Fans are now buzzing with the prospect of seeing these two top stars square off in what promises to be a thrilling battle for the ages.
