WWE is committed to honoring tradition with its classic show, Saturday Night’s Main Event, which will return this year. WWE appears to have ambitious, long-term plans for the show in the coming year.

The much-anticipated return of Saturday Night’s Main Event is set for December 14 at the Nassau Coliseum in Long Island, NY, airing at 8 p.m. ET on NBC and simulcast on Peacock. WWE has planned an exciting lineup alongside plans for the main event, promising fans an unforgettable experience at this historic event.

As reported earlier, WWE aims to elevate these Saturday Night’s Main Event specials over the next year, treating them with the same importance as pay-per-view and premium live events.

In a follow-up to the discussion of the show’s long-term plans, according to WrestleVotes Radio during their Q&A session, from now until the end of 2025, WWE has plans for five special Saturday Night’s Main Event-style shows, including the December edition. One of these will take place before their premier show, WrestleMania, adding to the build-up for the annual extravaganza. Furthermore, the report also stated that these events would join other notable shows, like Elimination Chamber, as essential parts of the WrestleMania season.

“Between now and the end of 2025, WWE plans to do five special Saturday Night’s Main Event-style shows, including this December’s edition. One of them will be before WrestleMania. Given the PLE treatment SNME is getting, it looks like we’ll be getting Elimination Chamber and another show as key pieces before WrestleMania.”

Originally, Saturday Night’s Main Event replaced Saturday Night Live on 29 occasions during its initial run. After brief revivals in 2006 and 2008, WWE is bringing this iconic show back as part of a new deal with NBC.

Moreover, fans are already buzzing about the revival of Saturday Night’s Main Event, a show that played a vital role in WWE’s national expansion and the Rock ‘n’ Wrestling era. This reboot promises to blend nostalgia with fresh excitement, offering fans a taste of Saturday night wrestling magic.
