NXT Deadline is coming up in less than a month on Saturday, December 7, 2024. The Minneapolis Armory in Minneapolis, Minnesota will get quite a show with another Iron Survivor Challenge match. That big match is coming together, and there were a few qualifying matches during the November 12 WWE NXT.
Lexis King and Le’Von Evans battled on this week’s show in a qualifying match for the Iron Survivor Challenge Match. Both of those Superstars want to prove themselves by getting a space in that match. King is coming off losing William Regal as his wingman, but he also proved that he is not his father in the process, as he turned down Regal’s offer of brass knuckles. Je’Von Evans is coming off a rub from RVD during the 2300 Arena show last week, so he’s looking to carry on that momentum.
Je’Von Evans got a big reaction as he made his way to the ring. These two started off fast, as Evans was very bouncy. Lexis King tried to pin Evans down, but he couldn’t get the young upstart to keep his shoulders to the mat for longer than two seconds.
King went outside the ring, but Evans followed him with a suicide dive to bring him back in. They continued and Evans accidentally took a shot below the belt. Lexis King fought the chance to capitalize on his hurt opponent, adding to the storyline that he’s not like his father. Then they went to commercial once again.
After the commercial break, Je’Von Evans got bouncy once again, as he nailed a stunner and a flurry of other moves for a two count. Then he climbed to the top rope, and he jumped down to eat a Superkick from King for a near fall. Evans nailed a splash off the top rope, but he couldn’t get the pinfall. Finally, Evans was able to get the win after a corkscrew splash.
Je’Von Evans is the second man in the Iron Survivor Challenge match, after Wes Les, who beat Cedric Alexander earlier in the night.
In case you’re wondering about the rules, The Iron Survivor Challenge is a 25-minute match with five wrestlers. Two wrestlers start, and every five minutes, another joins. The fifth wrestler enters at the 15-minute mark. The goal is to score the most points before time runs out. If a Superstar is pinned, they must wait things out in the penalty box until they may re-enter the match.
