Grayson Waller has made a name for himself as one of the most outspoken heels in WWE today. Fearless in his approach, he has no regrets about taking shots and disrespecting legends in the business, and that includes even Triple H.
Earlier this year, Triple H’s team reshaped the tag team division by introducing separate title belts for each brand. During a WWE SmackDown segment, Austin Theory and Grayson Waller clashed with Triple H over this change, and things didn’t go smoothly.
While speaking during an interview with Chris Van Vliet, Waller shared his perspective on that Friday Night SmackDown moment. He made it clear he has no regrets about disrespecting Triple H and expressed frustration with what he sees as an excess of respect in the industry today. Waller believes veterans and legends often receive too much deference, which he finds unnecessary, especially when it’s his time to shine.
“Yeah. I think I have a problem with authority, you know. Maybe I don’t like DX or I don’t know. But, this is something so fun about such a serious moment and not taking it seriously. I think everyone is so respectful these days. It kind of makes me sick in a way. People are too respectful. Especially with legends and people in the game that’ve done a lot of great things. Yeah, that’s awesome, but it’s my time now, and I’m not going to sit here and say, ‘Oh, thank you, sir, thank you so much for the opportunity.’ Especially on TV. I don’t do that.”
Grayson Waller continues to be a thorn in the side of his opponents and it’s very apparent he will never stop going after legends in the business and that’s something fans have accepted about him by now.
