CM Punk surprised fans by making a comeback at the 2023 Survivor Series Premium Live Event and in the year since then, he has truly turned a new leaf and had solid programs with many top stars. That’s why it comes as no surprise that Grayson Waller wants a program with him in the future.

Grayson Waller worked hard to make himself one of the most dependable stars in WWE right now and he’s had solid programs with top stars in his own right. Known for his eccentric character and loudmouth personality, there are a lot of fans who want to see him face off against CM Punk.

While speaking to Chris Van Vliet, Grayson Waller stated that he thinks he could make magic with CM Punk in a potential program. He likes how Punk handles business and talks, and he feels they would have a lot of fun together. Waller even threw some trash talk at Punk before he arrived, just in case they ended up facing off. Now that Punk is here, Waller feels they could create great energy together. He believes that the best rivalries come from people who are very similar, and he sees a lot of similarities between himself and Punk.

Waller stated that he really wants to face Punk, especially on the microphone, since Punk is known for being confident and speaking his mind. Waller likes that Punk doesn’t care what people think and just says what he feels. He also wants to challenge Punk the same way Punk challenges others and see how he reacts. Waller compared this to his experience with Shawn Michaels, making Michaels feel what it was like to be on the other side of things. While Punk is on top now, Waller wants to take him on as the CM Punk of 15 years ago to see how Punk responds.

“There’s one guy that like I feel like could make magic with and that’s CM Punk. I think the way CM Punk does his business and the way he talks, I could have so much fun with that. I can just feel it. Even the small interactions we’ve had, I threw a bit of trash talk at him before he even got here, just in case he ever did. Now that he’s here, I feel like me and Punk would have a lot of fun. That’s where the biggest heat lies—when you’re too similar. I think me and Punk definitely have our similarities.

He’s a guy I’d definitely like to stand across from properly, especially on the mic. He’s almost untouched in that regard, the way he carries himself, how confident he is. He doesn’t care whether he’s good or bad, he doesn’t care what people think; he’s going to say what he thinks, and I love that energy. I want to give that back to him. I want to see how he feels when someone does what he does to people, to him. It’s how I felt with Shawn a little bit. It’s like, ‘Shawn, remember what you used to be like? How’s it feel now? You’re feeling what it’s like to have you coming at you.’ I feel that with Punk. Yeah, Punk’s ruling it right now, but I want to be the CM Punk from 15 years ago, coming at him and seeing how he reacts and how he feels about it.”

CM Punk has been absent from WWE television since the October 7th episode of RAW. Nonetheless, it remains to be seen whether Grayson Waller and The Second City Saint will feud with each other in the future, as fans would more than love to see that happen.
