Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins, known as The Street Profits, have sparked serious speculation with recent tweets, interviews, and behind-the-scenes chatter pointing to potential frustration within WWE. While some backstage talent has picked up on the vibe, many are unsure if this is just part of a larger storyline.

Fightful Select tried to get the scoop on the duo’s contract status by reaching out to both The Street Profits and WWE, but came up empty-handed. There’s no clear indication that Ford and Dawkins’ contracts are nearing their end or if they have plans to re-sign. This silence has only stoked more questions about their future.

The pair signed multi-year contracts back in 2019, but the exact length remains a mystery. When pressed on his future, Montez Ford told reporters he’s “still thinking about it,” leaving fans guessing what’s next.

Ford recently got real about his career frustrations during an interview with The Daily Mail. “For me to sit here and go like, how’s it going, that it’s good, that’d be a lie,” he revealed. “There’s always pleasure in doing what you love…but it does get to that sense of frustration where anything you try to accomplish in life…you may feel like it’s either taking too long, or it’s been too long, or nothing’s happening.”

The once-golden run of The Street Profits has hit more bumps than victories lately. Although they held tag team gold and briefly formed “The Pride” with B-Fab and Bobby Lashley in 2023, momentum fizzled when Lashley left WWE earlier this year, leaving Ford and Dawkins to figure things out solo.

Reflecting on the setback, Ford said, “I’m glad with what we had for the short period of time…But what I took from that lesson is anything can happen, anything can transition, anybody can leave, anybody can just depart at any time. And you kind of just have to pick up whatever’s left and just run with it. And that’s exactly what I’m doing right now.”

It’s been nearly four years since The Street Profits last held tag team gold, and the constant “stop and go” has worn down Ford’s patience. He admitted, “This is the crossroads that I’m at right now in life. Ever since I was a kid, I always wanted to be WWE Champion…But I’ve also made a lot of changes and adjustments to try to be successful within this tag team, and I’m now at the point where I’ve done everything…still no success.”

In perhaps the most eyebrow-raising moment of his interview, Ford hinted that a big change might be on the horizon. “I’m looking at the universe, I’m looking at the signs. Is it time to adjust to a new era, a new mode, a new mindset, or do I need to start getting rid of people?” he said, hinting that a solo career could be on his mind.

Could this be the start of Montez Ford’s solo journey to become WWE Champion? Fans are left to wonder if this marks the beginning of the end for The Street Profits.
