The WWE Independent Development (WWE ID) program continues to grow, and the latest name to join its ranks is Marcus Mathers.

WWE announced Mathers’ signing, noting that he was scouted from Game Changer Wrestling (GCW), where he made a name for himself with standout performances. Mathers has also wrestled on AEW Rampage and made appearances across various independent promotions, including PROGRESS Wrestling, Beyond Wrestling, C4, and more.

The announcement was made official on November 9, 2024, via WWE ID’s social media: “#WWEID welcomes @MarcusMathers1. Scouted From: Game Changer Wrestling (GCW). Hometown: Philadelphia, PA.” The reveal came after William Regal ID’d two new prospects backstage at Friday Night SmackDown.

WWE ID is designed to offer promising indie talent access to high-quality training, mentorship, and developmental resources, elevating their career paths within WWE. The program partners with elite wrestling schools, such as Reality of Wrestling, the Nightmare Factory, the Black and Brave Academy, Elite Pro Wrestling Training Center, and KnokX Pro Academy, to cultivate the next generation of wrestling superstars.
