WWE’s Montez Ford isn’t shying away from the swirling rumors. With fans buzzing about potential cracks in the Street Profits’ partnership, Ford decided to clear the air ahead of their upcoming WWE Tag Team Championship match against the Motor City Machine Guns on next week’s SmackDown.
Recent teases and cryptic comments have fueled speculation, especially with Bianca Belair hinting that Ford might be gearing up for a singles run. But Ford is determined to set the record straight, confronting the ‘elephant in the room.’
Speaking on the SmackDown Lowdown, Ford opened up about the frustrations and challenges the Street Profits have faced, especially after Bobby Lashley’s departure from WWE for AEW, which left the team in a state of uncertainty.
“Let’s address the elephant in the room,” Ford began. “There’s a lot of frustration between the Street Profits and B-FAB. Earlier this year, we joined forces with another member, and they decided to go and do their own plans, so it left the Street Profits and B-FAB to pick up the scraps and find ourselves all over again, all in the midst of that drought, losing ourselves. At once we knew who we were, then we lost who we were, and at the same time we still don’t know who are, at this moment right now.”
Ford didn’t hold back on expressing the struggles of going four years without holding the WWE Tag Team Championship, admitting that their smiles often masked deeper frustrations.
“Four years of drought. No WWE Tag Team Championship, not in the conversation with everybody. For us to walk around happy, still putting smiles on everybody’s faces, walking around like everything is okay, when everything is not okay Byron!”
But Ford’s message was clear: things are about to change. “Next week, it changes. We stamp ourselves once again. We put ourselves in every single conversation. That’s on everything. That’s on momma, that’s on the hood, that’s on the world, on God, we taking home the gold. That’s how confident we are right now, that’s how serious we are right now.”
In what he described as a make-or-break moment, Ford set the stakes for next week’s championship match. “Next week, it’s WWE Tag Team Championship or bust. That’s it. There’s no other option. There’s no plan B, plan A, that’s it.”
As anticipation builds for next week’s showdown, the WWE Universe will be watching closely to see if Ford and Angelo Dawkins can reclaim their spot at the top or if this is the beginning of a major shift for the Street Profits.
