It’s been over seven months since Mercedes Martinez last appeared on AEW or ROH television, sparking questions from fans about her status within the company. Despite her extended absence, the former ROH Women’s World Champion remains signed to AEW.

Martinez’s last match took place on the April 27 episode of ROH TV on HonorClub, with no formal explanation provided for her absence from television since then. While she has made sporadic appearances on the independent wrestling circuit, her absence from mainstream wrestling has been notable.

According to Fightful Select, Martinez is still on the official AEW and ROH rosters, both publicly and internally, signaling that her contract with the company is intact. The report also notes that she has not been present at recent TV tapings, but this could change at any time.

“Technically, yes. She’s still listed as under contract, and is on the AEW roster page, and internally. She hasn’t wrestled on any AEW or ROH shows for months, and I’ve not heard of her being backstage of late. Although the latter is always possible.”

Martinez has had an extensive and impressive career, particularly in the 2000s and 2010s as a mainstay in the women’s indie wrestling scene. She officially joined AEW in 2021 and became a significant part of Ring of Honor after Tony Khan’s acquisition of the promotion in early 2022. Martinez’s impact in ROH includes her victory at Supercard of Honor XV, where she unified the lineal title with her interim title by defeating Deonna Purrazzo.

With her proven track record and history of memorable performances, fans are eager to see if and when Mercedes Martinez will make her return to AEW or ROH programming.
