AEW has a roster full of talent who can’t wait for their next chance to perform. That being said, not all of them are medically cleared, but one star was just okayed for a return to action after a very long hiatus.
Sean Ross Sapp reported on Fightful Select that sources close to Aussie Open’s Mark Davis confirmed he has been cleared to return to the ring. This return is a long time coming, as the team hasn’t been seen together in any form for an entire year.
Davis has been out for over a year due to an injury, and he last competed at AEW WrestleDream 2023 in a match for the AEW World Tag Team Titles against FTR. Now that he is back to action, it appears that AEW is going to pair him up with his former partner.
Kyle Fletcher has gained recognition as a singles wrestler in AEW and ROH. Then Mark Davis appeared on screen to confront Fletcher after he split from Will Ospreay, but Davis has not yet returned to action. Now, it appears that he will finally be able ot get back to action.
Mark Davis had knee surgery in May 2023, which kept him out for several months. This return was a long time coming, but obviously they didn’t want to rush things. It also came at a perfect time as Fletcher has also taken a huge spotlight in his current angle with Will Ospreay.
AEW has another episode of Dynamite scheduled for this week, so Mark Davis may get in on the action. Only time will tell how Tony Khan books this situation, but he has a lot more freedom now that Davis is cleared to compete.
