Jacob Fatu signed with WWE earlier this year and has been making a significant impact since his debut in June. Despite his rising star status, he has faced accusations of scamming a non-profit organization after not showing up at a wrestling event. WWE’s internal response to this situation has now been revealed.

Last year, a local charity called Jake’s Network of Hope, which helps underprivileged people, had a tough experience in April 2023. They organized a wrestling fundraiser at Lawrence University and booked several famous wrestlers, including Billy Gunn, Vampiro, Tatanka, Brian Pillman Jr., and Jacob Fatu.

On the day of the event, Jacob Fatu called to say he couldn’t make it because of a family emergency. Jenn Harper, the Development Director, stated that they believed him and understood that family is important.

They expected to be reimbursed for the money they spent on Jacob Fatu, which included a plane ticket costing $2,633. They even changed his flight when he missed it, but after the new flight took off, Fatu told them he wouldn’t be coming. After that, he stopped replying to them, the production team, and the person who booked him for the event. Therefore, he was accused of scamming the non-profit.

“Jacob called and said it was a family emergency. We gave him the benefit of the doubt and at Jake’s, we are 100% about family and said if you can’t make it, that’s fine.

We rescheduled the flight that he missed originally and about an hour after that flight took off, we were made aware from him that he won’t be coming. After that, he ghosted us, he ghosted the production team that puts together the wrestling show and he ghosted the person that booked him for us.”

According to a report by Dr. Chris Featherstone of Sportskeeda, WWE is aware of the accusations against Jacob Fatu regarding his alleged actions. The report states that the company is looking into the resurfaced claims. However, there has been no further confirmation about any actions they might take beyond the ongoing investigation.

“I have been told within WWE that they are currently investigating the resurfaced reports of Jacob Fatu ghosting a charity event.”

This is a serious issue, and it’s strange that Jacob Fatu hasn’t returned the money to the non-profit, especially since he has the ability to do so. We will have to wait and see if he decides to return the money, especially now that WWE is investigating the situation.
