TNA star Steph De Lander is on the road to recovery after undergoing a C5 and C6 discectomy and fusion, which she announced at Victory Road. The procedure, which De Lander calls her “new neck,” was done as a preventative measure to address a nagging neck issue and ensure a safe return to the ring in the future.

In a recent interview with The Commentary Booth – Live Via Satellite, De Lander provided a health update, sharing that she’s been recovering well.

“Good, feels good. Just a little cut [on my neck], I’ve got some bandages on it. I feel great,” she shared. “It’s been just about two weeks since surgery now, and obviously I’ve got a long ways to go as far as recovery is concerned, but for two weeks post neck surgery, I’m feeling pretty good.”

De Lander opened up about her decision to have surgery before the issue worsened, explaining,

“When you hear neck surgery, you think worst-case scenario. Obviously, neck injuries can be very, very dangerous. But luckily mine is kind of a preventative, like ‘Look, you’ve got this [nagging] neck issue. Let’s get it taken care of while we can, while you can recover, come back from it, be 100%,’ rather than waiting until it gets worse.” She added, “So I’m feeling good, I’m happy I did it, on the road to recovery.”

TNA previously announced that De Lander is expected to be out for six to ten months following the surgery, giving her ample time to heal and return to action at full strength.
