Montez Ford has his sights set on WWE’s top prize, but he’s starting to wonder if he needs to shake things up to get there. Ford recently opened up to The Daily Mail about his frustrations with The Street Profits’ recent struggles, admitting that while he’s living his “dream job,” the road to success hasn’t been easy.

“For me to sit here and go like, how’s it going, that it’s good, that’d be a lie,” Ford revealed. “There’s always pleasure in doing what you love…but it does get to that sense of frustration where anything you try to accomplish in life…you may feel like it’s either taking too long, or it’s been too long, or nothing’s happening.”

The Street Profits’ momentum has been anything but steady, and Ford’s frustration is growing. The tag team once held tag team gold and even enjoyed a brief alliance with B-Fab and Bobby Lashley as part of “The Pride” in 2023. But that momentum was short-lived, as Lashley left the company earlier this year, leaving Ford and his partner, Angelo Dawkins, to regroup.

Reflecting on Lashley’s departure, Ford shared, “I’m glad with what we had for the short period of time…But what I took from that lesson is anything can happen, anything can transition, anybody can leave, anybody can just depart at any time. And you kind of just have to pick up whatever’s left and just run with it. And that’s exactly what I’m doing right now.”

It’s been nearly four years since The Street Profits have held tag team gold, and the team has struggled to gain consistent momentum since. For Ford, the constant “stop and go” has made it difficult to maintain fan support.

“This is the crossroads that I’m at right now in life,” Ford admitted. “Ever since I was a kid, I always wanted to be WWE Champion…But I’ve also made a lot of changes and adjustments to try to be successful within this tag team, and I’m now at the point where I’ve done everything…still no success.”

In perhaps the most telling moment of his interview, Ford hinted that it may be time for a drastic shift in his approach, saying, “I’m looking at the universe, I’m looking at the signs. Is it time to adjust to a new era, a new mode, a new mindset, or do I need to start getting rid of people?”

With Ford potentially considering a solo run, fans are left wondering: could this be the beginning of the end for The Street Profits? Only time will tell.
