Vince McMahon was hit with serious allegations of sexual trafficking and misconduct from former WWE employee Janel Grant and this led to Vince McMahon resigning from WWE and TKO Holdings. In the meantime, McMahon is setting up a new entertainment company and now Eric Bischoff believes McMahon will work until he drops dead.
It was previously reported that Vince McMahon is working on creating a new entertainment company that will focus on film and television projects. This company will not pursue any wrestling-related projects, shifting its attention to both fiction and non-fiction entertainment. This represents a significant change from McMahon’s long history in professional wrestling.
Several former WWE executives and alumni are already part of the team helping to establish the new venture, which they plan to launch once McMahon’s current legal issues are settled.
While speaking on his 83 Weeks podcast, Eric Bischoff thinks Vince McMahon will keep working until he dies, especially now that McMahon is starting a new entertainment company. He mentioned that McMahon has bought several properties in Santa Monica, including studio space, which indicates he’s making a long-term investment since Santa Monica is very expensive. Bischoff feels confident about this, even though it isn’t officially confirmed.
Bischoff pointed out that McMahon, whether he’s 84 or 86 years old, shows no signs of stopping. He believes McMahon is determined to get back into business, but his focus seems to be shifting away from wrestling to a wider range of entertainment. Bischoff added that while he doesn’t know McMahon very well, he has seen how driven he is in ways most people can’t understand. He said McMahon’s mindset is different; instead of relaxing or taking vacations, McMahon is committed to working until he can’t anymore. Ultimately, Bischoff thinks McMahon wants to stay in the entertainment industry rather than return to wrestling.
“I do believe I should mention that Vince has purchased several properties in Santa Monica, including some studio space. Santa Monica is not a cheap place to buy property, so if that’s true, this seems to be a long-term play. You know he’s not renting studio space if he’s buying property. That’s what I’ve been led to believe. I don’t think it’s confirmed anywhere, so don’t take it to the bank, but yes, he’s making the move.
Also, understand that there’s nothing really happening right now. There’s a project that sounds somewhat like another version of the Monday Night Wars. I guess, again, I don’t know who’d be interested in that or how we’d put it together, but whatever—more power to him.
A guy like Vince, I don’t even know how old he is now, 84, 86, whatever—it’s just that he’s not going to stop. He will die trying to get back into the business. Based on what I think I understand, it’s not really wrestling; it’s broader. I don’t want to say too much more like it’s a big secret, but this is so speculative at this point that I don’t want to add any more or put any more meat on the bone than I should.
Again, I don’t want to suggest that I know Vince very well at all. My impression of him, based on the little time I spent with him, is that he is just so profoundly driven in ways that most of us can’t understand. I just don’t think his brain functions like everyone else’s. You know, relaxing, going on a long vacation, experiencing things that you haven’t experienced in your life because you’ve constantly been working and grinding—it’s just not Vince. He’s going to work until the day he drops dead, but I don’t think he’s interested in getting back into wrestling. I think he wants to stay in the entertainment business.”
We will have to wait and see when Vince McMahon’s entertainment company will be set up and operational, as it is likely McMahon’s company might just see a lot of success, as fans will agree that McMahon will work until the day he dies.
