Cody Rhodes finished his story at WrestleMania 40, but he was far from finished with WWE. The American Nightmare is still a featured act in the main event scene, but he’s not pigeonholed to just pro wrestling.

Netflix has a lot of expectations for WWE, and they are also paying a ton for the next decade of WWE RAW. The streaming giant wants CM Punk, Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes as names on the men’s side they’re hoping featured on the show.

Sean Ross Sapp also reported on Fightful Select that he was told that Cody Rhodes and Netflix discussed a potential movie role. Sadly, that role didn’t end up happening.

“We’re told that Cody Rhodes and Netflix had also discussed a potential movie role that didn’t end up coming to fruition.”

Cody Rhodes’ acting career proceeds his time in the pro wrestling ring. He had a recurring role on Arrow, and he also had a voice role on Captain Laserhawk. We will have to see if he can snag another role, but his current popularity should help open some doors.

At this point in time, WWE has Cody Rhodes on a John Cena schedule, and a Cena-like push. He is a main player, so losing him for any amount of time would be hard for WWE to take. That being said, any acting role he takes may need some clever maneuvering when it comes to coordinating a schedule.

WWE’s transition into a new era on Netflix could be quite interesting. After all, they may be dealing with people who don’t understand all of the intricacies that goes into arranging a pro wrestling show. If anything, it may be a nice foot in the door for a Superstar like Cody Rhodes to land himself a part in a Netflix movie sooner or later.

What kind of part would you like to see Cody Rhodes play in a Netflix film? Let us know in the comments below.
