During the TNA Wrestling tapings after Bound for Glory on October 27, Chris Bey suffered a serious neck injury near the end of a tag team match, which worried many fans. However, it has now been confirmed that TNA Wrestling will be covering all of Chris Bey’s medical expenses.
Chris Bey was injured while facing The Hardys when he fell awkwardly during a move. Medical staff quickly responded, putting a neck collar on him and carefully placing him on a stretcher as fans looked on in shock.
Bey was taken to a hospital in Detroit, where he had neck surgery. A GoFundMe campaign was started to raise $30,000 for his medical expenses, and it has successfully surpassed that goal, currently totaling over $85,000.
While speaking on The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy, Matt Hardy talked about the GoFundMe campaign for Chris Bey before revealing that TNA Wrestling is covering Bey’s medical expenses.
“Also, there’s been people that have been donating and giving him money just for his life in the weeks and months ahead, however long it takes him to recuperate from this so he doesn’t have to worry about where his income comes from,” Hardy said. “Yes, TNA is taking care of the expenses, but it’s just to make sure that he’s safe and focuses on himself. The wrestling community has been so selfless about it, it’s been amazing.”
Chris Bey is a top wrestler in TNA’s tag team division and plays an important role in the company’s partnership with New Japan Pro-Wrestling. Many wrestlers have already expressed their support for Bey, and everyone hopes he recovers quickly so he can get back to doing what he loves most. Fans wish him all the best during his recovery.
