The Young Bucks, Matt and Nick Jackson, have received lots of criticism regarding their personalities and the image they present. They lost their AEW tag team titles on Dynamite and are set to be on hiatus for a while and AEW’s plans for their return have been revealed.
Jackson, alongside his brother Matthew Jackson, dropped the AEW Tag Team Titles to Private Party on AEW Fright Night Dynamite. It is to be noted that Nick Jackson has been dealing with shoulder issues for quite a while now.
After their loss, the Young Bucks were spotted packing up their locker room and leaving the arena, signaling they were taking a break. Frustrated, they told Christopher Daniels that AEW felt “too chaotic” and that they planned to “work from home” to regroup. It was then reported that The Young Bucks would be on hiatus for a while after their loss.
According to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the reason for the Young Bucks’ hiatus from AEW is that they want to avoid getting involved with the Blackpool Combat Club storyline. However, they’re expected to return as fan favorites, stepping in to “save” AEW. The plan is for them to be back in time for the AEW and NJPW Wrestle Dynasty show on January 5.
We will have to wait and see how The Young Bucks will be integrated into AEW’s long-term storyline featuring the Blackpool Combat Club, as all competitors have a lot of history with each other on AEW television. Nonetheless, fans are eagerly anticipating The Bucks’ triumphant return whenever it happens.
