Damian Priest made a strong impact on Monday Night RAW during his time as WWE World Heavyweight Champion. Although his reign is over, he’s now focused on winning the title back. That said, WWE is also planning to make changes to his character to support this new direction.

Damian Priest recently lost to Dominik Mysterio on the October 28th edition of Monday Night RAW this week and retaliated by taking out The Judgment Day without Finn Balor’s involvement.

While speaking on WrestleVotes Radio on Backstage Pass, JoeyVotes and TC talked about Damian Priest’s future in WWE. They noted that WWE plans to boost Priest’s popularity by expanding his merchandise and marketability, aiming to push him as a bigger babyface. Tapping into his Puerto Rican heritage, he may start wearing a traditional “Vejigante mask,” which he previously wore at WrestleMania 40 Night 1. Therefore, this mask could become a key part of his character moving forward.

“There are talks to “strengthen” the Damian Priest character, in regards to merchandising and appearance. WWE have discussed Priest paying homage to his Puerto Rican culture, by embracing the Vejigante mask.”

We will have to wait and see whether Damian Priest embracing his Puerto Rican roots will lead to a huge shift in his character, as it’s quite evident that his feud with The Judgment Day is far from over now.
