WWE Hall of Famer Mark Henry, who parted ways with AEW earlier this year, has been keeping busy with several projects since his exit. Interestingly enough, Henry has now confirmed he will be involved in the upcoming season of “Dark Side of the Ring.”

Vice Media’s popular show “Dark Side of the Ring” has fascinated viewers by showing the darker sides of professional wrestling. The series covers shocking scandals and sad stories, focusing on the industry’s most controversial topics. Season six is currently in production, but there is no release date yet.

While speaking on the No Contest podcast, Mark Henry confirmed that he will be part of the new season of “Dark Side of the Ring.” Henry said he had turned down “Dark Side of the Ring” in the past before because he felt it mostly showed the negative side of wrestling. He was especially concerned about how Black wrestlers were portrayed, as he believed they were not shown in a positive light. He told the producers that he would only join if they agreed to include some positive aspects and good stories about people.

The producers accepted his suggestion and offered him a role to help shape the episodes. Due to this, Henry confirmed that he worked on an episode about Tony Atlas, which will also air soon. He promised that fans can look forward to something special in the Tony Atlas episode of “Dark Side of the Ring.”

“I did Dark Side of the Ring that’s coming out here pretty soon. I never did Dark Side of the Ring before because I didn’t agree with it. I thought it was too much of an exposé on the bad side of wrestling. But I told them, ‘You know what, man, I can’t do it.’ And they asked, ‘Why?’ and I was like, ‘Because of the way I feel about it. If y’all ever put a silver lining on it and ended some of those things with the good in people, then I would do it.’ Especially the way they painted Black people. They don’t paint Black people in a positive light on these shows.

And they said, ‘So, if we allowed you to help produce it, you would do it?’ I said, ‘Yep.’ So I did Tony Atlas, and Tony Atlas is coming out soon. So when you see Dark Side of the Ring with Tony Atlas, you’re gonna see something, man, that is awesome.”

It was also confirmed that interviews are already underway for Mick Foley’s “Dark Side of the Ring.” Nevertheless, fans are definitely excited to see how Mark Henry’s involvement in the show will pan out, as this could lead to future appearances for The World’s Strongest Man.
