Jushin Thunder Liger may be one of wrestling’s legends, but don’t expect to see him in action on the upcoming Chris Jericho Cruise.

The Japanese icon joined Sonny Onoo for an interview on the Grue Rume Show, where Onoo revealed that Liger had been asked to wrestle during the cruise. However, Liger quickly shot down the idea, saying, “I am too old!”

The Chris Jericho Cruise, set to sail from January 31 to February 4, 2025, will travel from Miami to Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic, with Chris Jericho serving as the ‘Master of Ceremonies.’ Guests of honor will include Scott Steiner, Jerry “The King” Lawler, and of course, Liger himself.

Since wrapping up his in-ring career at Wrestle Kingdom 14 in 2020, where he teamed with Naoki Sano against Hiromu Takahashi and Dragon Lee, Liger has stayed true to retirement. Now 59, he spends his time providing commentary for New Japan Pro Wrestling, bringing his experience to fans from the commentary booth.

Liger’s commitment to retirement might disappoint some fans hoping for one more match, but his legacy remains strong without another appearance in the ring.
