There were many talented WWE Superstars who were booked well in NXT but the same couldn’t be said when they were called up to the main roster. This exactly applies to Cameron Grimes and now that he isn’t in WWE anymore, he has revealed the condition for joining WWE.

Grimes became a top star in NXT thanks to his stock market gimmick which explored his character work in a big way. None of that mattered when he was called up to Friday Night SmackDown and was subsequently released earlier this year.

While speaking to Denise Salcedo, Cameron Grimes was asked whether he has any interest in going to companies like AEW. Cameron Grimes stated that he is open to working in AEW. He explained that he is interested in wrestling anywhere and doesn’t want the perception to be that he only wants to work for WWE.

However, he emphasized he is not looking to simply play the same role he did in WWE at other promotions. If he joins another company, Grimes wants it to reflect his value as a top talent with a strong sense of direction, rather than just taking an opportunity for the paycheck.

“Yeah, of course, I’d like to work anywhere, you know what I mean? And I don’t want the narrative to be that I only want to wrestle for WWE. But I also don’t want to just be the guy I was in WWE in these other companies. If I’m going to appear in another company, I want it to be in a way that I feel I deserve—to come in as a top talent with a clear direction. I don’t want to just come in because the money’s there. I’m excited to work absolutely anywhere.”

Cameron Grimes even made it clear he is open to returning to WWE somewhere down the line, no matter what it takes. Nevertheless, it remains to be seen whether Cameron Grimes will join Tony Khan’s company, as there might be a spot for him there in the future.
