Dustin Rhodes is still in AEW—sort of. Despite his contract reportedly expiring around the end of September or start of October, “The Natural” has not officially parted ways with All Elite Wrestling or Ring of Honor.
According to Fightful Select, Rhodes and AEW are “still in negotiations,” but as of now, “nothing was done yet.”
Even though Rhodes hasn’t wrestled since his contract expired, he’s still technically a champion. Rhodes currently holds both the ROH Tag Team and Six Man Tag Team Championships, which makes this contract situation even more interesting. Fans are wondering what this means for the titles and for Rhodes’ future in AEW and ROH.
Rhodes, who has had a banner year in 2024, has wrestled more matches this year than any since 2020 and is on pace to have his busiest in-ring year since 2018. But his impact in AEW extends beyond the ring—he’s also been a mentor, especially within the women’s division, providing guidance and support to AEW’s growing roster of female talent. His contributions both inside and outside the ring have made him a key figure in AEW.
As negotiations continue, it’s unclear what the future holds. Will Rhodes strike a new deal with AEW, or could he be moving on? Only time will tell, but fans are anxiously awaiting the next development.
