Cody Rhodes has a great way of connecting with his fans, which helped him become the Undisputed WWE Champion. However, Rhodes is also known to make controversial statements from time to time, and it appears he has admitted that he isn’t opposed to body shaming in pro wrestling.

The world of professional wrestling today is quite different from the past. Gone are the days of wrestlers who were just overly muscular; now, more fit and diverse athletes are the norm.

With that said, there is still a lot of body shaming prevalent in the world of professional wrestling. While speaking on the Flagrant podcast, Cody Rhodes admitted that he doesn’t mind body shaming in wrestling because it is a “vanity business.” He believes that having a good physique is important since wrestlers perform without shirts. He pointed out that fans pay a lot to watch them, so it’s normal for them to expect wrestlers to be fit. Rhodes thinks it is okay for fans to judge wrestlers based on their appearance.

“This is a vanity business. There’s this weird online contingent that doesn’t realize how important that [physique] is. We’re wrestling with our shirt off, folks, it’s ok to go the gym…and you hear fans be like “you can’t body shame wrestlers” – what are you talking about? We’re standing there half naked and you’re paying hundreds of dollars to see us. Body shame me all you want.”
