MVP’s arrival in AEW has been met with widespread respect, not only for his in-ring and managerial skills but also for the way he handled past tensions with Chris Jericho.

According to Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select, MVP addressed his history with Jericho immediately upon joining AEW, earning high praise from those within the company. Rather than ignoring their previous issues, MVP went directly to Jericho’s locker room, preventing any chance of further conflict and setting a positive tone for his AEW tenure.

The tension between MVP and Jericho had roots in a public dispute from 2022, following an altercation at a hotel after an AEW Dynamite taping, spurred by personal and political disagreements. MVP’s proactive move to resolve the matter allowed him to gain respect quickly among AEW talent.

As Sapp reported, “MVP gained a lot of praise and even more respect for how he handled his previous issues with Chris Jericho,” noting that he “didn’t make a big deal out of it,” effectively putting the matter to rest.

Shelton Benjamin’s debut has been similarly well-received. Sapp noted that Benjamin’s addition to AEW has been discussed for some time, with many eager to work alongside the veteran wrestler. Benjamin brings further depth and experience to the AEW roster, complementing MVP’s leadership and presence within the company.

“Shelton Benjamin has long been discussed as someone pushed to come into the company and many people there had already worked with him.”

With both MVP and Shelton Benjamin receiving positive reception internally, AEW fans can anticipate exciting new dynamics and matchups as they settle into their roles.
