Nick Gage is setting the record straight about a story involving Jon Moxley and GCW. While appearing on the Blvd Bullies YouTube livestream, Gage confirmed the rumor that Moxley insisted GCW promoter Brett Lauderdale pay them equally after learning Gage was earning less for their matches.

Moxley and Gage squared off twice for GCW—first in 2021 and again in 2022. During the livestream, Gage recalled how the former AEW World Champion pushed for equal compensation, underscoring the respect between the two wrestlers.

“I wasn’t there, but I know that definitely happened,” Gage said. “I was there, but I wasn’t in the vicinity… But I know that happened.”

The hardcore wrestling icon went on to explain that while pay wasn’t something he originally focused on, his perspective changed when he realized just how much he contributed to the promotion’s success.

“I sat next to a guy that I was like, ‘Well, are you gonna tell me how much you get paid?’ And he got paid more than I did, and I was like, ‘Wow.’ But, at the time, before that, I really didn’t care. I was just so focused on wrestling. I was wrestling four times a week,” Gage shared.

He continued, “Then I thought about it, like, ‘You know what? There’s a lot of asses I put in these motherfcking seats…’ I don’t like talking sht, but just facts are facts. I earned my money.”

The story adds yet another layer to Jon Moxley’s reputation as someone who stands up for his peers, reflecting the brotherhood that exists within professional wrestling.
