Cody Rhodes Reveals When He Plans on Ending Full-Time In-Ring Career

Cody Rhodes is currently the Undisputed WWE Champion and is considered the face of the company for good reason. He has been part of the wrestling business for almost two decades now and has revealed when he plans on ending his full-time in-ring career.

The American Nightmare has competed in numerous companies throughout the years, including ROH, AEW, TNA Wrestling and more, most of which have been after his initial WWE exit in 2016.

Cody Rhodes has only ever suffered a serious injury once and that was back at Hell in a Cell 2022 where he suffered a torn pectoral muscle. He faced off against Seth Rollins in a solid match and had to miss out on a lot of in-ring action until the Royal Rumble last year.

While speaking on the Flagrant podcast, Cody Rhodes talked about when he plans to stop wrestling full-time. At 39, he believes he can perform at his best until he turns 45. He picked this age because he wants to be a strong dad for his three-year-old daughter. He wants to be able to play with her and lift her up. So far, he hasn’t had any problems with his strength, and he thinks a lot about staying strong for her.

“I feel like I’m 39 now, and I believe I can go full-time, 100%, and be my best until I’m 45. I don’t know why I’ve set that number in my mind, but I have a three-year-old daughter, and I don’t want her to have a dad who can’t do a lot or who isn’t strong enough. I haven’t had that problem yet; I can throw her up and play with her. I want to be the kind of dad who has the strength to pick her up and do whatever she needs. I think about that a lot, but 45 is the age I have in mind for myself.”

By the time he is 45, Cody Rhodes will have likely achieved even more success in WWE and so he will be more than happy to end his full-time in-ring career, as it’s certainly he will be a first-ballot WWE Hall of Famer as well.
